1. Who this is between
This agreement is between you and Carson Rodrigues, an individual
developer in India who builds and operates Billfold. "The apps" means
ReciDex, TaxPocket, WiseLedger, SnapReceipt, LensExpense, FlowBooks,
SyncDext, ForeClaim, FleetLog, EnterpriseX and ZestPOS, on iOS, Android
and the web.
You must be 16 or older to hold a Billfold account.
2. Your account
One account works across all eleven apps. Sign-in is passwordless: a
one-time code sent to your email, or Apple or Google sign-in. Keep
access to that mailbox and that device secure, because anyone who has
them can reach your records.
One account is for one person or one business. Do not share credentials
with people who should not see your records.
3. What it costs
There is no subscription and nothing auto-renews
Billfold sells no subscription. There is no recurring charge, no
automatic renewal, no trial that silently turns into a paid plan, and
no stored card. Nothing you do in an app can start a payment.
Every app is free to use within its limits. Those limits are shown in
the app and cover ordinary use.
Premium is arranged directly. If you need more than the
free limits allow, write to
rodriguescarson@gmail.com
and we will agree what you need, what it costs, and how you would like to
pay. Access is then switched on for your account by hand. It lasts for
the period agreed and simply stops at the end of it, because there is
nothing set up to renew.
4. Payments in ZestPOS
Billfold never processes payments and never holds funds
ZestPOS is a billing and record-keeping tool. At checkout it displays
the payment details you entered, such as your own UPI ID or QR
code, and your customer pays you directly. The money moves
between your customer and your bank. It never passes through Billfold,
and there is no payment processor, float or settlement delay in the
middle.
This has consequences that are worth being clear about:
-
You are responsible for the payment details you enter. If you type the
wrong UPI ID, the money goes to whoever owns it, and we cannot recover
it.
-
We cannot confirm that a customer actually paid. ZestPOS records what
you or your cashier mark as paid. Check your own bank or UPI app for
the truth.
-
Refunds, chargebacks and disputes are between you and your customer.
We have no ability to reverse a payment we never held.
-
Tax on your sales, the legal validity of the bills you issue, and any
registration your trade requires are your responsibility. ZestPOS
helps you produce records. It does not make you compliant.
5. Your side of it
- Use the apps lawfully, and only for records you are entitled to keep.
-
Do not upload anything illegal, or anything containing another
person's data that you have no right to hold.
-
Do not attempt to reach another user's data, break the rate limits,
reverse engineer the service, or resell access to it.
-
Check what the apps produce before you rely on it. A total in a tax
return is your figure, not ours.
-
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Every app
exports.
6. What is not promised
-
Text extraction is not perfect. Reading a receipt with
a model is a best effort. Faded print, odd formats and bad light all
produce mistakes. Always check an extracted amount, and edit it when
it is wrong.
-
This is not tax, accounting or legal advice. Category
suggestions, deduction hints and quarterly estimates are calculations
on the data you entered. Ask a qualified professional before filing.
-
The apps are provided as they are. To the extent the
law allows, there is no warranty that they will be uninterrupted,
error free, or fit for a particular purpose.
7. Availability and offline use
Ordinary billing in ZestPOS runs entirely on your device and needs no
network, no server and no licence check. A dead connection, a service
outage on our side, or an expired premium period cannot stop you from
taking an order and billing a customer.
Premium extras in ZestPOS do need the device to reach our server once
every 20 days to confirm they are still enabled. If it cannot, those
extras switch off until it can. Ordinary billing keeps working
regardless.
The receipt apps store a capture on the device immediately and sync when
a connection returns. Text extraction needs a connection, so it finishes
later if you were offline when you took the photo. Manual entry always
works offline.
8. Your content stays yours
Your receipts, records, invoices, menu and sales data belong to you. You
give us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store
your files, show them back to you, and pass a receipt image to our text
extraction provider when you ask for that. Nothing here gives us the
right to publish your content, use it for marketing, or train anything
on it. The
privacy policy sets out the detail.
9. Ending it
You can stop at any moment by deleting your account, which erases
everything across all eleven apps. See
deleting your account.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break the law,
to attack the service, or to hold data the account holder has no right
to. Where it is possible and lawful to warn you first, we will, and we
will give you a chance to export.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or
consequential loss, lost profits, lost sales, or loss of data where you
had the means to export and keep your own copy. Where liability cannot
be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the 12
months before the claim, which for a free account is nil.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be
limited under the law that applies to you as a consumer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Goa,
India have jurisdiction. If you use the apps as a consumer somewhere
else, this does not take away the protections your local law gives you.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. A change
that materially affects you will be announced in the apps before it
takes effect. Continuing to use the apps after that means you accept the
new terms. If you do not, delete your account and export your data
first.
